A week passed by in Xsainu castle. The rain clouds slowly cleared, and the sun returned to the sky once again. It took days before all of the fog lifted, and the land below dried. Life seemed to return in the city, and within the fortress walls as well.

During the first few days, everyone was in a dreary mood and on edge. The demons would frequently visit and stay by Cisaya's side, waiting for her to get better. She showed slow signs of recovery, but they stayed convinced that she would be fine.

Dreymeil was the one who ended up skipping most of his duties to spend time with her. After he had dealt with Rosalie's father, he had given the girl a decent sum of money that would be enough for the girl to buy her own house. He parted ways with Rosalie since then, and had hardly left the study to do anything else.

Whenever Chisoku or Eclipse would drop by to visit, they usually caught Dreymeil in the middle of a long and heartfelt apology. All of them knew that Cisaya wouldn't be able to hear him, but Dreymeil never stopped saying he was sorry. The other two would usually leave him alone when he was doing this, and Dreymeil seemed to appreciate the time he had alone with her.

Eventually, Dreymeil poured out all of his feelings, and ran out of things he wanted to say. He only watched her sleeping face, and hoped for the best. The demon got up from the chair next to her bed, and walked out of the room. As he went down the hall, Dreymeil took out Cisaya's lighter from his pocket, and continued to stare at it. He hadn't even touched a cigarette throughout the whole week, and only kept the lighter with him because it symbolized so much now.

The demon went into the kitchen to get a glass of water, when he spotted Chisoku in there, holding one of his wine glasses and scrubbing it furiously. "... What are you trying to do?" Dreymeil rolled his eyes.

"How the hell does Cisaya get my glasses so shiny?!" Chisoku snarled. "Dammit... this isn't working." he growled, and threw the dish rag he was using onto the floor. He crossed his arms and looked over to Dreymeil dryly. "What do you want?"

"Just getting some water..." he shrugged, and snatched the cup right from Chisoku's hand and went to fill it up. As he did so, Dreymeil noticed two brooms sitting against the wall, that he never noticed before. "Since when did we get those things?" he asked.

"Meh, since Cisaya decided that she wanted to clean up the place." the overlord grumbled. "I have no idea really, but I'm sure not going to try sweeping up again." Chisoku scoffed, and walked out of the kitchen.

"Clean this place up? Pft, that's impossible." Dreymeil sneered.

On the day that Cisaya woke up, everyone abandoned their jobs to see her. Chisoku, Dreymeil and Eclipse gathered around the bed, waiting anxiously as she regained consciousness and opened her eyes. They bombarded her in questions and concerns, which was their own way of expressing relief.

"WHY THE HELL DID YOU RUN AWAY?!"
"Does anything still hurt?"
"Jeez, you really got us worried, you know that?!"
"WANT ME TO KICK DREY IN THE BALLS FOR YOU?"
"YO, SHUT UP. Cisaya, you forgive me right?"
"Can you two quiet down and stop shouting in her face...?"
"NO."

The girl blinked, as she watched the three demons in front of her scuffle and argue. Cisaya was feeling better, if not only extremely weak. Her muscles were odd to control after a week in bed, and she still felt a bit light-headed from all of the potions and remedies she had been given.

Cisaya finally opened her mouth, and said, "I missed you all."

All three of them stopped fighting, to stare at her in bewilderment. Apparently, a week without hearing her voice made it a miracle to hear her talking again. Dreymeil, Eclipse and Chisoku looked down anxiously at her, trying to hold back their questions for now to listen to Cisaya.

"Ah... I'm sorry for running away..." Cisaya apologized first. "It was kind of... childish and stupid for me... And it got me in all this trouble..." she glanced down at her hands. Although she couldn't remember everything, she had been conscious during a few instances, had heard a few of the conversations going on while she was healing.

She fiddled with the blanket in her lap for a while, before staring up at them again. Each of the boys still meant so much to her, and she didn't know why she started to weep in front of them. "In that instant when my life flashed before me... I realized how you are all are so able to make me feel... so happy... and so sad sometimes." Cisaya sniffled. "Everything... ah-ah... I'm sorry..." she wiped her eyes, trying to stop crying.

The demons hadn't expected to see Cisaya sobbing like this, or all these sentimental words. None of them were sure of what to say, and simply flailed around, looking for tissues.

Cisaya managed to calm down and blow her nose after she had a tissue box shoved into her hands. Her eyes were still wet, but she continued. "Everything you've guys have done for me... really does make me glad that I met you..." she looked at each of them with a quivering smile. "So first... Chisoku?"

~

"Meh?" The red-haired demon had his arms folded across his chest.

"You were the one who saved me from that monster, right?... Well, thank you. I would've been eaten alive back there if you didn't show up..." she said. "And... I just wanted to say I'm really grateful you're letting me stay here... Xsainu castle really does feel like my home now..." Cisaya smiled at him.

"Tch... no problem." Chisoku grumbled.

Cisaya looked to Eclipse next. "And I'm sure you healed me, of course... I owe you, Eclipse..." she nodded at him in appreciation. "You've helped me out ever since I got here... I really don't know how I can ever start paying you back..." she admitted.

"There's no need, you already do." Eclipse cleared his throat.

Finally turning her gaze to Dreymeil, Cisaya let her smile fade for a bit. "Drey..."

Before Cisaya could continue, Dreymeil lunged at her, throwing his arms around her waist and hugging Cisaya tightly. "I'M SORRY, I'M SORRY, I'M SORRY, I TAKE BACK EVERYTHING I SAID, I'LL NEVER SLEEP WITH ANY OTHER WOMAN AGAIN EXCEPT YOU, I'LL STOP SMOKING, I'LL DO EVERYTHING YOU ASK AGAIN AND I'LL ALWAYS PROTECT YOU NEXT TIME CISAYA!!!" the demon yelled at the top of his lungs as he embraced her.

Cisaya winced lightly, not because Dreymeil hurt her, but because he was practically squeezing the life out of her. "D-Drey-!"

"Don't ever leave me again, alright Cisaya?!" he snapped and stared straight into her eyes. "I know I've been the biggest dick on the planet and it's my fault you ran off and got hurt... I know you probably won't forgive me... JUST DON'T LEAVE AGAIN JEEZ!" Dreymeil bawled and buried his face in her chest, throwing away all of his pride and dignity as a man.

"Hey now, I'm not going anywhere..." Cisaya mumbled awkwardly, petting his head. "You know... what you said really hurt, Drey. And I'm still kinda upset... but... I still want you to know something." she managed a small smile again.

"Even if I just call you guys my friends... you're all so much more than that." the demon slayer told them. "You guys mean everything to me, okay?" Cisaya tilted her head, looking up at Chisoku and Eclipse while she held Dreymeil.

"... Yeah, got it." Chisoku mumbled, but was glaring at Dreymeil for snuggling against Cisaya like that.

"Indeed. You're... important to us too, Cisaya." Eclipse coughed.

"I'm sorry sorry sorry sorry!" Dreymeil continued to rub against her chest and apologize.

Cisaya patted Dreymeil, finding it hard to stay mad at him when he was acting like an affectionate dog again. "It's okay... I trust you, alright Drey?" she gave in and hugged him back.

"ALRIGHT. I swear to prove I'm a good guy to you Cisaya!" Dreymeil sat up with a huge grin. "FIRST THINGS FIRST, MAKE UP SEX." he cheered eagerly and went in to tackle Cisaya again.

"....." Eclipse and Chisoku grabbed Dreymeil by his arms and started dragging him out of the room. "How about you clean up the whole castle first to prove yourself, you stupid, perverted henchman..." they muttered.

"I LOVE YOU CISAYA!" Dreymeil called as he was being dragged away.

She blinked, and shook her head as she watched the boys going out through the door. Cisaya lay back down, and shut her eyes with a small smile. She was happy to see that the rain outside had stopped.
