I decided to just use the same... portrait style I guess to show the different styles :T

I'm still experimenting with semi-realism of course. XD This is only my... second time this year messing with it. Still not satisfied. OTL

First time drawing Cisaya in this... style thing. I gave her somewhat Asian features because... I guess she'd be at least half-Asian if she were real. XD I mean... her name is freakin Cisaya after all...

I know most people don't like it when I draw semi-realism =w= Mainly because it creeps them out or something. Apparently it falls under uncanny valley....
So yeah although it's pretty discouraging that people will like one of my 10 minute chibis over a 10 hour portrait like this, but I don't really mind anymore. I'll keep practicing anyways cuz I want to. XD

Oh god another long description why do I ramble so much...

Dunno, to me, drawing in anime style is pretty... restricting after a while. I read somewhere that once you get to a certain level and have settled in your style, it's hard to improve and get out of that.

I don't like being stuck in a rut.

And as much as I love working on DH and drawing in anime style for it, it gets really... boring after a while. I don't really like the turnout either, and then call my art shit etc etc.

So yeah, I know plenty of people probably go through the same thing. I think my way to deal with it is to just try something different. Go out of your comfort zone, study some reference pictures, look at a couple tutorials, and just do it. xD The result will probably never be as good as you want it, but at least you're trying. =w=b
Some people work better with getting criticism and pointers, but not me. XD I prefer to just study and try everything out on my own. I go through trial and error rather than have someone dictate what's wrong and right to me.
