Canin Reyals

Who is this boy? Why does he matter? WELL FRIENDS let me tell you a story.

This here is Canin Reyals, previously named Senkon. He is the very first character I created for the World of Reflection that my series is based in.

Although I've lost track of the exact number of years, Canin is at least 8 now! I recently dug up my old DragonFable Account (don't even play, I love DF) and found his character. The amazing part was that I logged in exactly 6 years after I made his character in DF. What a coincidence? So I decided that February 26 will be his Birthday, and it's time to spoil you guys on some info on this baby.



Canin Back Then
He originally appeared in my first online story, something called Blood Moon. It was written in script format and followed his adventures with a red-haired girl named Zetsumei. Among the other characters in Blood Moon was Eclipse the necromancer, an elf named Thunder, a Catgirl named Sindran, a Werewolf named Claws, and a bunch of other OCs that were created by my friends. Chisoku and Dreymeil were also there, as the main villains. 

Canin was the main character, a mercenary hired by Zetsumei brought over from the human world into Reflection through a magical portal. He eventually became an apprentice to Eclipse after Zetsumei abandoned him for being too weak, and thus he begins his training as a Shadow Fighter, traveling along Eclipse's familiar, the golden wolf named Sunlight...

I can't remember the rest of the story, but Canin was always the cheeseball hero that wanted to get strong to HELP HIS FRIENDS. 

Canin in Crimson Daybreak
Now in the canon storyline that my series is set in... Canin has become a supporting character who appears in Arc 2 of Crimson Daybreak. You can read about the entire series in this handy dandy old flash...



But his role hasn't changed much, and soon enough he ends up as Eclipse's disciple again. This time, he's now a Demon Slayer, the same class as Cisaya! He also travels with the mysterious Zetsumei and Sunlight, gaining fame as the "Hero of Halis" for his exploits of protecting the city. He has a kind-hearted nature but is pretty naive to the many issues and dangers around Reflection. However, he is highly protective over those he cares about and is always willing to put himself in danger to save someone else. 

In Conclusion...
It's been a long time since I first started writing and drawing... And looking back, it's been amazing how many years have passed and how far my series and art has come. Canin really represents the beginning of everything for me, as my first character for this huge series and world. He's got a special place in my heart and it's kind of crazy how one character really started it all. 

Don't be afraid to look back at the ideas and characters you've made in the past! It really is an eye-opener of how much you've grown.
